  • sanctifying work of parenthood

i’ve had this blog bookmarked for weeks and just took the time to read it…oh i needed to read this and i will turn to this wisdom over and over!  http://www.desiringgod.org/blog/posts/the-sanctifying-work-of-parenthood “Life doesn’t seem to work the way you thought it would. Your children aren’t perfect, you are short on patience, and you don’t remember the last time you’ve had a decent night’s sleep. Know that God is at work in the midst of each and every rough day and parenting challenge. Be vulnerable and abandon yourself to the work of his hand. See the sin he reveals in you and bring it straight to the cross. Remember that Jesus…

  • sisters

I have the most amazing sisters in the world. they are beyond thoughtful and are always there for me. today they spoiled my mom and I with a wonderful lunch and beautiful gifts. I’m so thankful for them and appreciate them so much.

  • thankful

I’m swimming in a sea of blessings thinking about the gift I’ve been entrusted as a mommy to. looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day with three generations tomorrow and showering my own mom with so much love. praying for the future children god has already chosen for our family. I’m humbled by thankfulness.

  • quotes

I decided to unofficially tag along with this 30 day blog challenge I saw a friend doing and today’s prompted topic is favorite quote. I don’t have quotes stored up in my mind but I do love mother teresa and admire her greatly. this quote i found challenges me, humbles me and makes me want to be better:“let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.” ― Mother Teresa ps. we got chickens today! pictures to follow. gracie named them poppy and daisy!

  • an off day

first of all, the wind drove me crazy today! secondly, gracie really tested me today and nearly gave me a heart attack when she ran away from me and darted across the street. thirdly, i got to escape this crazy city for a couple of hours with my sister and hit up our favorite charity thrift store in lagrange and found these great “vintage” finds for gracie. i’m thankful to be winding down the day and am praying for more mommy patience tomorrow.

  • timing is everything

“in his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” proverbs 16:9 “timing is everything”…i have to believe it. i want to believe it. really it’s the most tangible thing to hold onto sometimes, a cliche saying that almost everyone uses, based on faith or not. we have continued to pursue adoption through foster care and recently have really felt that it is the calling for our family. we have always wanted to do this and have always desired to adopt but this calling feels so much stronger and the urgency is compelling. we have gotten a few calls and for whatever reason, “the timing just…
